George Wiedholz


George Joseph Wiedholz RACINE-George Joseph Wiedholz, 68, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday January 10, 2012 at Wheaton Franciscan Health Care-All Saints. George was born in Madison, Wisconsin on December 15, 1943 the son of the late George and Geraldine (nee: Eagen) Wiedholz. He was united in marriage to Virginia "Ginger" Lyons on September 19, 1964 at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Racine. In 1973, George along with his wife and family relocated to Whitefish, Montana, enjoying "Big Sky Country" for 16 years, where they made their home until returning to Racine in 1989. Most recently George and his wife Ginger were active members of Racine Moose Lodge #437. George followed the family tradition of his grandfather and father as a third generation upholsterer owning and operating Wiedholz Upholstery. Along with his wife Ginger, they worked side by side, in their joint ventures of Wiedholz Upholstery and Wiedholz Estate Sales. George enjoyed what the outdoors had to offer as an avid hunter and fisherman. George is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ginger, and their children, Leesa (John) Abbott, Clinton (Lisa) Wiedholz, and Kelly Wiedholz, grandchildren, Dakota and Ireland Abbott, and Nora Wiedholz all of Racine. He is also survived by one brother, Rick (JoAnne) Wiedholz, one sister, Kathy (Allan) Spencer, of Racine and sister-in-law Lynn Wiedholz. George is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends in Racine and Montana. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Frederick Wiedholz, David Wiedholz and Joseph Wiedholz. In keeping with the wishes of the Wiedholz family, private services will be held and George will be laid to rest in a private ceremony.
