Gerry was a great friend in grade school at St. John Nepomuk, a parish with a lot of Czech speakers back in the 50's.  As altarboys, Gerry, myself, Tom Kroupa and Bob Sura volunteered to serve Friday night stations in Czech.

Afterward we would cut up, have snowball fights and have a few laughs before walking home.  Gerry had a great sense of humor.

Gerry was a special needs kid.  Last I saw him was in the summer of 1963 a year after graduation.  He had found a job at a sheltered workshop in Racine and was happy.  I told him I was happy for him and wished him well.

Gerry,  I miss the fun we had together at St. John's.  God bless.
