Rex Hash "Butchy" Matney Jr., 38, of Radford, Va., passed away Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010. He was preceded in death by a nephew, Charles Rex Brimer. Survivors include his son, Josiah Matney, of Rich Creek, Va.; his father and stepmother, Rex Hash Sr., and Carolyn Matney, of Statesville; his mother, Wanda Saul Thornton, of Radford,Va.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Darin and Dawn Brimer, of Hardy, Va., and Charles Gordon and Sonja Brimer, of Hiwassee, Va.; and special nieces and nephews, Darin Brimer Jr., Donald Brimer, Carissa Brimer, Kelsey Brimer, Charles Brimer Jr. and Aaron Sifford. Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford, Va., with the Rev. Robert Smith officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening prior to the service, from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
