Saw this after I sent Alan a message, but I recently did some training for work at Lake Guntersville Lodge and they have totally redone it and it is beautiful! It would be beautiful in the fall and it has a great restaurant that does catering. You may have already been thinking about a venue, but I just fell in love with that place and wanted to mention it. They could provide accommodations for those who live a great distance, as well as space for dinner or even dancing.

Good Idea. I have not seen it in the two years. I hear it is nice.

I went to Guntersville Lodge last weekend for Sunday brunch.  It is a really nice facility and the views in October would be beautiful.  If you cater food, they give you a discount on the cost of a room.  At the brunch we had prime rib, catfish, pork, salad bar, chicken casserole, country fried steak, vegetables, cooked-to-order omelets and waffles and desserts for $14.95.  Don't know how the pricing works for catered functions, but I picked up the contact information for the person who does the booking.  Will post that soon.
