Gaither Dean Dixon, 79, of Raleigh passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2021.  He was born May 3, 1942 in Person County, NC son of the late Gaither Floyd and Mary Wrenn Dixon.

A funeral service will be held Monday, August 23, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Bright Funeral Home with burial following in Raleigh Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends Monday at the funeral home from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M.

Mr. Dixon graduated from Broughton High School in 1961.  He worked for Westinghouse/ABB for 41 years before retiring in 2002.  He was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church in Raleigh and was a member of Millbrook Masonic Lodge #97 since 1973.  He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time on Kerr Lake.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Virgie Hicks Dixon, two daughters, Angela Dunton of Raleigh and Susan Sullivan and husband Joey of Clayton, a brother, James B. Dixon and wife Mary of Carthage and two grandchildren, Wesley Dunton and Addison Sullivan.
