Reagan Hamilton Fox, III, 70, of Perry, Florida, passed away peacefully at home with his family on Saturday, April 20, 2013. He was predeceased by his mother Cathryne Patton Fox, and his father Reagan Hamilton (Pete) Fox, Jr. of Raleigh, North Carolina.

Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Perry, Florida, at 4:00 on Tuesday, April, 23. Officiating will be Pastor Glenn Baker. Interment will follow at Boyd United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Reagan was born in Jonesboro, Lee County, North Carolina, on February 20, 1943, to Reagan Hamilton Fox, Jr. and Cathryne Louise Patton Fox. He resided most of his life in Raleigh, North Carolina and attended Needham Broughton High School in Raleigh and North Carolina State University graduating in 1965 with a B.S. Degree in Forestry. He married his high school sweetheart, Carolyn Tyner Fox, in Raleigh on January 26, 1964.

After graduating from NC State, Reagan and Carolyn moved to Etowah, Tennesee, where he worked for Bowaters Paper Corp., Hiawassee Land Company as a forester and later moved to Perry in 1967 where he continued to work in the forestry industry as a logging equipment salesman and ultimately as owner of his logging company for the past 30 years.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church,. Perry, Florida,. The Perry Elks Club, Perry Golf and County Club , Florida Forestry Association, and The Old Geezers Skeet Club. Reagan hunted, fished, played softball and golf avidly. He also enjoyed landscaping and tending his annual garden of vegetables and flowers.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carolyn Tyner Fox, his daughter Cathryne Fox Newport and son-in-law Robert M. Newport and grandchildren Carolyn (Carly) Ann Newport, Cathryne Grace (Gracie) Newport, and Charles Hamilton (Charlie) Newport; daughter Cynthia Fox Brown and son-in-law Michael Kevin Brown, Sr. and grandchildren Hayley Ciara (Sissy) Padgett, and Michael (Mikey) Kevin Brown, Jr.; and his maternal aunts Joyce Ellis of Birmingham, Alabama, Helen Schollmeyer of Tipton, Missouri, Peggy Patton Wooden of Towsen, Maryland, sister-in-law, Joan T. Curtis and niece Christa W. Lacombe and brother-in-law, James L. Tyner and niece Jessica Tyner of Raleigh, NC; many special cousins as well as many friends and faithful employees.
