Margaret (Peggie) J. McKelvey, 70 of Rock Hall, MD, formerly of West Chester, PA, died January 5, 2014 at home. 

Mrs. McKelvey was born on February 14, 1943 in Raleigh, NC, daughter of the late Alfred P. and Elizabeth Sleeman Jeffries. She was raised in North Carolina and was a 1965 graduate of the University of North Carolina. In June of 1965 she married her college sweetheart Kenneth and they moved to Ohio where he completed his graduate studies. In 1968 they moved to Delaware and from 1980 until 2013 they lived in West Chester. She was active with the Chadds Ford Historical Society, Brandywine Gardeners and the Chadds Ford Women’s Club. Mrs. McKelvey enjoyed cooking, sailing and traveling. 

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Kenneth N. McKelvey of Rock Hall; her sons, Scott A. McKelvey and his wife Heather of Macungie, PA and Craig A. McKelvey and his wife Victoria of Ambler, PA; and 4 grandchildren, Connor, Aidan, Keath and Colin. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, James A. Jeffries.
