John Leon Ogburn passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013. He was born in Allentown, PA to Dr. Leon N. Ogburn and Doris Andrews Ogburn. John spent most of his life in Raleigh, N.C., graduated from Broughton H.S., 1961, and attended both Wake Forest College and NCSU . John was the proud owner of Logan and Ogburn Landscaping Co. He is survived by his son, John L. Ogburn, Jr. (Elaine), his sister, Kathy Ogburn Roebuck (Dan), grandsons Evan and Jeremy Ogburn, many nieces, nephews and cousins and his first wife, Jackie Logan. A memorial service is planned for Wednesday, Nov. 6 , 1:30 pm at Cremation Society of the Carolinas, 2205 E. Millbrook Rd. Jackie (Jacquelyn) Logan
John's death was untimely and unfortunate. He was a man of many talents and great wit.
His greatest legacy is our son, John, Jr. and his two grandsons, Evan and Jeremy.

John, Harry Wetmore and I were really close friends back in Daniels Jr. High. I really hated to hear about John's passing. Only saw him once since high school.

We ran into John at the beach about 15 years ago. Only time I saw him after college. He was still very much the same fun loving guy I remembered. Sad about his passing.
