WILLIAM "BILL" IVY WATSON, JR.

William "Bill" Ivy Watson, Jr. 69, of Wilmington, NC, passed away Monday, March 19, 2012 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Raleigh, NC on October 31, 1942, the son of Sara Hood Watson and the late William I. Watson, Sr.

Bill was a dedicated supervisor with the N.C. Department of Transportation before retiring after 35 years of service. He will be remembered as a loving husband, son, brother, step-father, "Pop" and friend to all that knew him.

Surviving is his wife of 16 years, Sharon T. Watson, step-children, David (Brandy) Cooper, Laura (Michael) Cooper all of Wilmington, NC; sister, Janet Wakefield (Scott) of Boston, MA; three grandchildren, DeJah, Sadeya and Addison Cooper.

There will be a gathering of friends and family on Thursday, March 22, 2012 from 5:00 - 9:00 pm at the home, 805 Sago Bay Drive, Wilmington, NC.
