Constance (Connie) Williams Hawthorne: Raleigh

Connie Hawthorne died Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Duke Hospice Hock Family Pavilion in Durham. 
Celebration of Life will be held at 3 pm Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Millbrook United Methodist Church, with visitation following. 
Connie was a graduate of Needham B. Broughton High School and Hardbarger Junior College of Business, in Raleigh. During her career as an administrative assistant, she worked with UNC TV and served in State Government offices of Cultural Resources, Public Instruction, and the Council for Women. In recent years, she enjoyed serving Wake County residents as an election worker.
A devoted daughter, mother, grandmother and friend, Connie was steadfastly committed to the care and betterment of others. She was an excellent cook, loved animals, and always enjoyed flowers and gardening. 
She was preceded in death by her father, Lattie Bailey Williams and sister, Teresa Caroll Williams. She is survived by her children, Terry Hawthorne, Lynn Hawthorne, and Todd Hawthorne; grandchildren Jason Ralls, Bailey Ralls, and Olivia Hawthorne; her mother, Mary Alice Jones Rose and her devoted friend, Jerry Hall. Her family would like to thank Dr. Jeremiah Boles and staff at the Rex Cancer Center, the staff and volunteers at Duke Hospice Hock Family Pavilion, and her loving care givers, Teri Barham, Angie Whitt and Rodney Lowdermilk.
