Vonn will always hold a special place in my heart.  I remember him like it was yesterday and I can see him on the basketball court scoring points.  He would always ask me who was I going for in different basketball championship.  He is truly missed.

I think often what could have been with such a gifted young man. I met Vonn in 3rd,4th grade at Sacred Heart Cathedral. We would suit up in his back yard for football, and basketball. He was a fierce competitor even back then. He also fought the disease that ultimately cost him his life the same way. During his illness I must admit my ignorance of its critical effects. When we were together he never complained about the disease; just his inability to do all he wanted. There were things left unsaid, but probably because I wanted desperately to do something for him, but was helpless. He touched many lives, he taught me to take some chances, give your all, and I am truly the better for it! God bless you "friend".

I believe we lost Vonn within a year or two of graduation. Recruited to play basketball ball at Baylor, he was diagnosed with cancer during his freshman year (during preseason workouts?). I remember Vonn as a generous and kind soul. I always enjoyed spending time with him. He seemed wise beyond his years.
