Over the years we had three terrific children, Rob, Jennifer and Dean. Rob and his wife Jenni live in More…Davidson and have three children (two boys and I girl). Jennifer and Dean both live in Atlanta. Jennifer and her husband David have three daughters and Dean and his wife Megan have two daughters. So that means we have eight wonderful Grand Children and enjoy spending as much time with all of them as possible.

After graduation from State in 1967, I began my corporate career with Rohm & Haas in Philadelphia. In 1970 I changed companies and moved to New York and began my career with Cannon Mills. I worked for Cannon Mills (which subsequently became Fieldcrest Cannon) until the company was sold to Pillowtex in the late 90’s. While with Cannon/Fieldcrest Cannon I held numerous sales and marketing positions in New York, T Texas, Florida, and North Carolina. My last position was as President of Sales and Marketing. After the company was sold to Pillowtex, I joined forces with the former Chairman and we opened an international sales and importing company named Davidson Cotton Company. I stayed with Davidson Cotton Company until the early 2000’s when I decided to retire from the textile business. Since 2002 I have been involved in residential real estate. Initially working with my wife Ellen as a husband/wife team. In 2005 the owner of my company (Helen Adams Realty) asked me to open, manage and run a new office in the Lake Norman area. I continue to manage and run that office today.

In 1970, I met my wife Ellen and this January we will celebrate our 45th anniversary.

Over the years I have enjoyed playing golf, boating, gardening, and attending numerous sporting events. In 2003, my brother Tom and his wife Nancy retired and moved close to our home in Davidson. We had the opportunity to spend some quality time, both here in Davidson and at their mountain retirement retreat. And last but certainly not least, going to State football games together. Tom passed away four years ago, and he has been dearly missed, but I am thankful we had quality “Brotherly” years together before he passed.
