I have three children. Jill is now 45 and married to Bob Steffey, and living in Raleigh. They have two More…sons George (12) and Max (9) who are lots of fun. My older son Neil is now 42, living in San Francisco and works for a library software concern. My youngest son, Matt is a senior in computer science at that dark blue school down the road a bit that we won’t mention.

After graduation from State, I went to med school at Wake Forest, then called Bowman Gray. I did a residency in Psychiatry and joined the faculty at WFU med school, where I worked until 1985. Since then I have had a private practice in Winston Salem.

In 1986 I married Mary Ladd (double first name) and we adopted a son, Matt. Mary Ladd is a clinical social worker (psychotherapist) who has worked in our multidiscipline practice since 1986.

Currently I am working Tuesday through Thursday, and that gives me time to enjoy other things as well. I started playing guitar at age 25 and have kept that up through my life, mostly old time music recently. I play with friends at 5 or 6 nursing homes about once a month at each place. About 8 yrs ago I took up the electric bass, and have thoroughly enjoyed playing classic rock. We are headed to Michigan this weekend to play for the birthday of the youngest member of the group, who turns 60 this month. I also enjoy working in the yard and piddling in my shop downstairs. I have sailed all my life, and still enjoy it, but we haven't done as much since Matt was born. I started playing golf in Med School, and have kept it up, off and on, since. The usual aches and pains have recently been causing me to miss a few rounds.

Unfortunately I have been rather remiss in keeping up with all my old Sig friends, but I do remember those days quite fondly and am really looking forward to seeing everyone and catching up. Many thanks to Tom, Smiley, Jeff, and Hoyt for all the work that goes into putting together such a wonderful experience for all of us to enjoy.
