Being of sound mind and body (my personal opinion), I remember all too well ENG 101 at Winston Hall and what struggles many suffered there (except Rody Dayvault)) trying to gain the propriety of proper reading and writing. And all of you, being very good NCSU grads, learned from lists and numbers (not flowery prose); basic and simple things, yet so very essential. Therefore in that tradition, my brief bio follows:

1961-Entered NCSU; pledged EX

1962-Parties, football, fun (a few classes, too) 1963-Dropped out; traveled overland with two other vagabonds/gypsies thru Central and South America 1964-Readjustment at EX house 1965/66-Finally graduated; B.S.

1966/67-UNC grad school; M.S. (missed Vietnam by one day) 1967/71-UNC School of Dentistry; D.D.S.

1971-Staff @Murdoch Center/taught at UNC School of Dentistry 1972/74-Orthodontic residency @ UNC, M.S.

1974-present-Private practice of Orthodontics in Gastonia, N.C.

Family and other things:
First marriage, divorce in 2000, ended peacefully and with respect. I married again in 2007 (Caroline). In Sept. 2008, she was diagnosed with gr.4 brain cancer. Thus began a 5 year struggle/battle/war against the insurmountable @Duke Brain Tumor Center). It ended November16th, 2013...She and her life deserve God's Medal of Honor....

Grief, sadness, and sorrow know no boundaries, no limitations. They are like a hidden tsunami that at first hit with an indescribable force; then calming and returning again and again, without warning. And I know that each one of you have had similar events these past 50 years; we truly are related through kindred feelings.

Keep looking to the Light...

Of life, NCSU and EX

As I have said before, so I say to you:
Of the years at State and EX, I have thought and deeply felt those were some, if not the best, of our early lives. Truly, all of us were most fortunate to grow up and be educated in what has been called the "Golden Age" of the 20th century. If I could go back to those times, I would. And would I change anything? No.

To all of you, let us be thankful that we were together and forever remember those years....
