BS and MS in rural sociology in 1963 and 1965 respectively at N. C. State. More graduate work in sociology at Vanderbilt. Lived in Santiago, Chile for 1.5 years. Married an Argentine in December 1968. Taught sociology at the University of West Florida (1968-1972). Research director for Mississippi Labor Mobility Project in Hattiesburg, MS (1972-1974). Planning specialist at Mississippi Office of Federal and State Programs in Jackson, MS (1974-1975). Health statistician at U. S. Census Bureau in Suitland, MD (1975-1980). Program and management analyst (ask OPM what this is!) at the Department of Veterans Affairs in Washington, DC (1980-1996) and VA Medical Center in Atlanta, GA (1996-2008). Divorced in 1998; remarried in 2002. No rest for the weary! Currently retired in Lilburn, Gwinnett County, GA. I converted to Catholicism in 2005 – after not attending the Methodist church from 1958 into the future. My hobbies are: numerous church ministries that involve outreach; travelling at least once a year outside of Georgia (Tuscany next year, again – yay!); bowling three times a week; lifting weights and treadmill work five days a week; reading books on my Kindle Fire; having the best yard and garden in my subdivision; yelling at the refs at peewee baseball games; going to as many wine tastings as there are wineries in Georgia and then some. My life has not been linear but I never expected it to be (thanks to Professor Curtis Fitzgerald in the NCSU Philosophy Dept.).
