RALEIGH -- Jim Cottle died Monday, June 23, 2008 with his loving family holding him. He was our love-husband, father, Granddaddy, brother, and friend.
Jim was born March 12, 1946, in Clinton to Thomas J. and Lucille M. Cottle, who predeceased him.
He is survived by his wife, Amanda; son, Jamie and wife, Velma, of Winter Garden, FL and their children, Nicholas, Elizabeth, Julia, Michelle, and Joshua; daughter, Christy Asheville; brother, Thomas J. Jr. and wife, Barbara Emerald Isle; sister, Pat C. Taylor and husband, Tim of Clayton; brother Donald E. and wife, Carolyn, of Franklinton. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Roy Cromartie and the caring nurses at Cancer Centers of NC, Hospice of Wake Co., especially the loving care of Polly Addison, RN, and Joy Phillips, RN. The family deeply appreciates Monsignor Gerald Lewis, Father John Forbes, and Reverend Phyllis Mayo for their prayers and comfort to Jim and our family. We also would like to thank those who sent cards, loving thoughts and prayers, and food.
There will be a prayer service led by Reverend Phyllis Mayo at 7:00 p.m., Friday June 27, 2008 at Brown Wynne, Millbrook Road, Raleigh, followed by a time of visitation and remembrance of Jim, until 9:00 p.m.
