STATESVILLE - Mrs. Janice New Kirk Cranfill, age 54, of 319 Holland Circle, Statesville died Saturday, August 25, 2001 at her residence following an extended illness.

Born November 28, 1946 in Stubenville, Ohio. Prior to her illness she was office manager for Southern Fire Region in Charlotte.

She was married to Eger Cranfill, who survives at home. She is also survived by one daughter, Mrs. Melinda Beecham and husband Bill of Raleigh; one son, William B. Kirk III of Houston, Texas; one grandchild, Summer Hales of Raleigh; one brother, Thomas New of Raleigh.

Graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Hanes Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery at Hamptonville, NC. Officiating will be the Rev. Milton Jordan.

The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at Reavis Funeral Home in Statesville from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, August 27, 2001.
