RALEIGH -- Brenda Penny Barker, 54, passed away September 10, 2000. She is survived by her mother Lucille Jackson Penny; her husband, Charles Jordan Barker;

daughter Amy Barker Allen, and her husband Jeffrey; and grandchildren Emily Jordan Allen and Natalie Jane Allen, all of Raleigh.

Also survived by sister, Anne Penny Poole and her husband, J.S. "Buddy" Poole and Debra Susan Penny and special nieces, Susan Elizabeth Robertson and Laura Catherine

Johnson; special niece and nephew Catherine Elizabeth Bragg and Gregory Thorne Bragg, all of Raleigh; special aunt, Elizabeth Baker of Myrtle Beach.

She was preceded in death by her father, Russell Carl Penny.

Mrs. Barker was born February 8, 1946 in Raleigh. She attended Peace College, and has worked for the State of North Carolina for 27 years, the last 12 of which as a purchasing agent.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Mitchell Funeral Home, 600 St. Mary's Street, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Rev. Stephen Collins Kirk officiating.

Interment Montlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
