Angela “Capps” Christina Tinnin

November 29, 1973 - December 11, 2012

Angela Christina (Capps) Tinnin, 39, of Holts Summit, died Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at her home. She was born November 29, 1973, in Corpus Christi, Texas, the daughter of Jimmy Lee and Kathryn (Kinder) Capps. She attended Flour Bluff High School near Corpus Christi and was a graduate of Ramona High School in Ramona, Calif. Angie worked in retail sales, managing clothing and jewelry stores in Hawaii, Calif. and Texas. She was a communications operator in Morgan County, Boonville, and Gasconade County. In 2003, Angie joined the Missouri State Highway Patrol, first working in telecommunications before becoming a radio operator and later a Criminal Justice Information Services instructor at the Patrol's academy. One of her proudest accomplishments was becoming the first female member of the Missouri State Highway Patrol's SWAT team. Angie's children were her life. She was a devoted mother and loved them dearly. On November 29, 2011, Angie was united in marriage to Tim Tinnin, who survives at their home. Together they enjoyed traveling, making annual trips to Mexico, riding motorcycles and listening to live music. Angie was a very talented photographer and painter. Other survivors include her parents, Jimmy and Kathryn Capps of Versailles; three children: Reiana Barton, Madison Day and Connor Day, all of the home; two step children: Kaitlin Tinnin of Jefferson City, Tim M. Tinnin and wife Rachel of Raymore; her paternal grandmother, Lula Capps of Versailles; one brother, James A. Capps of Stover; her best friend, Lindsay Williams of Holts Summit; two step grandchildren, Brian and Jolie Taylor; two sisters-in-law: Laura Lewis and husband David of Holts Summit, Cheryl Kellen and husband Joe of Salt Lake City, Utah; a brother-in-law, Tom Tinnin and wife Donna of Tahlequah, Okla.; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Wanita Kinder. Friends will be received from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 14, 2012, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 15, 2012, at Capital West Christian Church with Rev. Rick Yoder officiating. Private family interment will be held in the Versailles City Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to The Andrew J. Somora Foundation, 5819 N.
