Steven Graner, 37, a long time resident of Ramona, died on January 21, 2011, the result of a tragic accident in Ramona. He was born on March 24, 1973, in San Diego. He graduated from Montecito High School in 1991. He had worked for Bodyworks by Jerry in Ramona for many years. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Ramona.
Steve was very outgoing and enjoyed golfing, camping at the beach and desert and riding his Harley. Steve was a newlywed. He and Heather had been a couple since 1996 and had married last June. They were looking forward to a long life together. Steve was a good husband and looked forward to being a good father someday but, sadly, that dream died with him. He lived in Ramona nearly all of his life and had a large tight knit group of friends that he had known for 20+ years. He had an amazing ability to make friends with just about anyone and was always willing to lend a helping hand. His quirky smile and gentle nature will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Heather of Ramona; mother, Barbara Norman of Sugarloaf; brother, Rob Graner of Sugarloaf; uncle, Terry Graner of San Diego; cousin, Cynthia Graner of Hollywood; and several extended family members on his father's side who live in Minnesota. He also had a huge list of dear friends in the Ramona area, far too numerous to list individually. He was met in Heaven by his father, Darrell Graner, who preceded him in death in May of 2003.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 28th, at 4 pm at First Congregational Church, 8th and D Streets, Ramona. A reception will follow at the home of Heather and Steve.
