John passed away at home with his wife Harriet by his side on June 8, 2009.  He was well beloved by his classmates and kept in close touch with most of them who lived in the Rathdrum area.  John was a remarkably "smart" man who had a quick sense of humor.  He served in the military, where he learned how to fly, the great love of his life.  He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
