James T. McCauley Jr., 46, died peacefully Nov. 7, 2009, in his Ken-horst residence after a short but brave battle with cancer.
He was the husband of Elizabeth A. (Schaeffer) McCauley.
Born in Reading, he was the son of Theresa M. (Romanovic) and her husband, Dr. Donald J. Kasper, West Chester. He was predeceased by his father, James T. McCauley Sr.
He was the graduate of Reading High School in 1981 and Berks Technical Institute in 2002.
Jim was the owner of JMC Graphics, his own graphic arts company.
Jim's passion was music and he was an excellent guitar player, playing in many local bands since a young age.
Along with his wife, Liz, he formed the band Sonic and the acoustic act, LJ Rockin' Acoustic in 2004.
His love for music was apparent when on stage with his wife.
He also had an affinity for motorcycles and truly enjoyed a long ride with his many friends. Jim also enjoyed spending time at home with Liz and their two special dogs, Sammy and Saki.
He is survived by four siblings: Dr. Lisa Marie McCauley, Thomas McCauley, John M. McCauley and Patrick M. McCauley; and six stepsiblings: Donna Urian, Carla Kasper, Dr. Kevin Kasper, Keith Kasper, Julia Kasper and Patricia Shores.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Friends may call from 2 to 3 p.m. in the funeral home.

Jimmy was one of my longest and best friends his talents in both music and art, I regret that I didn't spend more time with him. He was the reason I took guitar lessons. When he would come to get a haircut we would remenice about how we would do one another's hair before the ST. John's dances. I miss him.
