Kenneth Schell - Class Of 1979

 

Kenneth J. Schell, 43, Wilmington, Del., died of natural causes Jan. 23 in a hospital in Wilmington. He was the husband of Karen A. (Alburger) Schell. Born in Reading, he was a son of Bessie A. Schell, Reading, and the late Kenneth W. Schell. Kenneth J. Schell, 43, Wilmington, Del., who died Jan. 23 in a hospital in Wilmington, was a 1979 graduate of Holy Name High School.

 

 

 

 

 
 
 

Schell was employed for 12 years by Sherwin Williams Co., Wilmington, and was last employed for the past seven years as a sales representative by Duron Paints and Wallcoverings, Wilmington.

 

He was a member of Dale Earnhardt’s pit crew for eight years.

 

Schell was a member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, Wilmington.

 

He also is survived by two daughters, Caroline Joy and Caitlyn Marie Schell, both at home.

 

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in St. Barnabas Church. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington. The Mc-Crery Memorial Chapel, Wilmington, is in charge of arrangements.

I remember being at a Holy Name football game at St. Lawrence Stadium and Kenneth had this huge inflatable penguin he brought with him to the game.

He was a great friend! The penguin thing was from a Monty Python episode were there was" a penguin on the Telli-vision Set." , we used to joke about it all the time. I am surprise this is just being posted. Kenny has been at peace sometime now, at least 5 years if not more. Good Times though!!!

I thought I had posted something about the penguin a long time ago, Abner, but I guess not.  Glad I finally did and somebody else remembers the penguin.
