JoAnn A. Jockel (Rizzuto) - Class Of 1968

JoAnn A. Rizzuto, 57, Wyomissing Hills, passed away peacefully May 6, 2008, in Fox Chase/ Jeannes Hospital, Philadelphia. She was surroundedby her loving family.She was the wife of Louis R. Rizzuto, esquire, Wyomissing Hills. Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Kathryn (Spadafora) Jockel.

 She was a 1968 graduate of Holy Name High School and a 1972 graduate of Duquesne University.  She was president of the Italian-American Cultural Center at Alvernia College and a past president of the Reading Area Panhellenic and the Wyomissing Area School District PTA. She was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield. In addition to her husband she is survived by her daughters, Ann E. Rizzuto, San Francisco, and Katie (Rizzuto) Murray and her husband, Steven C. Murray, Shillington; and her son, Louis M. Rizzuto and his wife, Jaclyn Rizzuto, Burlington, N.J Other survivors include a sister, Mary J. Banco, Wyomissing Hills; and an uncle, Patsy F. Spadafora, Reading.

 

 

 

 

 There also are two grandchildren, Carla Madison Murray and Joseph Steven Murray.

 

 Friends may call Saturday at 9 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, 2810 St. Albans Drive. There will be no public viewing. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name may be made to the Italian-American Cultural Center, c/o Alvernia College, 400 St. Bernardine St., Reading, PA 19607.
