Carl E. Ritner Jr., 58, died peacefully on March 5, 2013, in his Florida residence.

He was the husband of

Rita Ritner.

Born in West Reading, he was the son of the late Carl E. Sr. and Martha J. (Reinig) Ritner.

He was a 1972 graduate of Holy Name High School.

Carl was employed as an electrical engineer for Gilbert Associates, and later in the same capacity for Florida Power. After retirement, he was a successful internet bookseller, specializing in books on the subject of bridge.

He enjoyed playing bridge and traveling.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons: Adam Smith, Bartow, FL, and Kevin Smith, Port St. Lucie, FL; and one grandson. There are three sisters: Barbara, wife of David Wenger, Lincoln Park; Carol, wife of Mark Wisniewski, Sinking Spring, and Jenny Ritner, Flying Hills.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
