James P. Born Jr. - Class Of 1978

 

 

 

 

 

James P. Born Jr., 52, died March 30, 2013, in his Laureldale residence.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of James P. Born Sr., Wyomissing, and the late Lucy M. (Wolff) Born.

He was a graduate of Holy Name High School in 1978 and Lincoln Technical Institute in 1980.

Upon graduation from Lincoln Tech, he went to California and worked for Intel. He moved back to Reading when he was hired by Lucent Technologies, where he worked for the majority of his professional life. Later, he was employed by military contractors through a military base in the Poconos.

Jim was an outstanding Lego builder, something he loved to do his entire life, this building of small parts led him to a career as a technician in the manufacturing of computer chips.

He was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield.

Jim was predeceased by a sister, Mary Louise Born.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Ignatius Church, 2810 St. Albans Drive, Sinking Spring, PA 19608. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the church. Contributions may be made to: St. Ignatius Church at the above address or Berks Catholic, 955 E. Wyomissing Blvd., Reading, PA 19611.

Jim,

as you begin your new life in heaven please note these few things. We will miss you. Some will ask why just why. 

PI remember the foot ball games, the politics when you won for senior year . The comraderie.  12years of school together.   You were always kind, and thoughtful.  A good sense of who you were and a friend. A great sense of humor. Be at rest . Maryanne
