Douglas Leffler - Class Of 1975

                                                                                            

 

 

     Sr. Douglass R. Leffler, Sr.,64, passed away February 21, 2021, peacefully at home after a lengthy illness. He was the loving husband of Donna L. (Vilardo) Leffler. Born in West Reading, he was a son of the late Raymond and Gloria (Pepe) Leffler. He was a 1975 graduate of Holy Name High School, and Berks Career Vocational Center. Douglass loved his family and was selflessly devoted to them. His children above all else will remember the life lessons he instilled in them. A carpenter by trade he loved working with his hands and teaching his son’s the value of hard work and the skills of carpentry. He enjoyed coaching his son’s baseball and football teams and never missed a practice or a game. He was an avid Philadelphia Flyers hockey fan. Doug also enjoyed golfing and bowling with his brothers. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Douglass R. Leffler, Jr., Sinking Spring and Derrick F., husband of Miranda Leffler, Wyomissing; four siblings: David Leffler, Aurora, CO, Daniel Leffler, Muhlenberg Township, Donald Leffler, Sinking Spring and Diane Leffler, Reading. He is also survived by one granddaughter, Alissandra Jane Leffler and expecting a grandson Dominic in early spring. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Heartland Hospice and McGlinn Cancer Center for the excellent care they provided Doug. Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
