Carol Ann (Yoder) Heitzenrater, 60, of Reading, passed away peacefully at Reading Hospital, surrounded by her family on August 5, 2013, after a six-day battle from a heart attack.

Carol worked for Angiotech for over 10 years, last working on July 31. She also worked for many years for her aunt and uncle at Wenger's Bakery. Carol was born in 1952, the day after Christmas, in Reading, to the late Kenneth A. Yoder, who passed away December 10, 2010, and Eugenia (Corcetto) Yoder, who just passed away July 19, 2013.

She graduated from Holy Name High School, class of 1971. Carol always put the needs of her family before her own and always enjoyed spending time with them. Baking and gardening were two of her favorite pastimes.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Michael R. Heitzenrater, with whom she just celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary, and two sons: Allen Heitzenrater and friend, Alicia, of Lancaster, PA; and Erik Heitzenrater and friend, Cortney, of Reading; two sisters, Marie (Yoder) Gift, wife of Fred Gift, of Temple, PA and Paula (Yoder) Whited, wife of Scott Whited, Honey Brook. There are also many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who will miss her.

Funeral services will be Saturday August 10, 2013 at 11 a.m. in Theo C. Auman, Inc. Funeral Home 247 Penn St., Reading. Burial to follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be Saturday 9-11 a.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Humane Society of Reading, 1801 North 11th Street, Reading, PA. 19604 in Carol's name.

My prayers and sorrow are with her friends and family in this terrible time of sorrow.  I know loss and at this holy day season, it is so difficult.  Love and prayers to all of you.
