In Memory

Lori Szczepanski (Lefebre) - Class Of 1980

Lori Elizabeth Lefebre, 52, of Galen Hall, passed away September 1, 2015, in her home of natural causes. She was born in Reading, PA, to Theodore A. and Mary P. Szczepanski-Palka on January 15, 1963. Lori graduated from Holy Name High School, where she participated in a number of sports, including basketball and in the summer, she enjoyed swimming for Ken-Grill Pool. She then continued on to the College of Misericordia to study nursing. After marrying an ROTC grad, she had two sons, with whom the family moved from state to state until returning to PA and settling down in the York area.

Lori worked at a number of hospitals over the years, most recently in the ICU at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.

More than anything, Lori enjoyed being a mother. With both her boys involved with baseball, she never missed a game, or an opportunity to take them fishing.

She also had a lifelong friend in her husky, named Sassy, who predeceased her in 2012 and left her heartbroken.

Lori also struggled with her health in recent years but fought an unbelievable fight. She truly was one of the strongest people anyone could ever know, and though she had a "tough as nails" way about her, her heart was very tender, and she would do anything for anyone if she could help.

Lori's other big loves included reading (her absolute favorite was Stephen King), the NY Yankees (and anything Derek Jeter), going to the casino and spending time with family and friends.

Lori is survived by her sons, Jonathan L. Lefebre, husband of Danielle Ferrari,of Red Lion; Shayne Lefebre, of Philadelphia; a baby daughter, Brittney, in Heaven; a granddaughter, Brittlyn; and another grandbaby on the way.

Also by her brother, Theodore A. Szczepanski, Jr. (husband of Barbara) of Sinking Spring, her two sisters, Rosemary (wife of Steven Raimo) of Allentown and Jolyn (wife of Edward Ostrowski) of Muhlenberg; as well as two nieces and four nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Humane Society of Berks County, 1801 N. 11th St., Reading, PA 19604, or Animal Rescue League of Berks County, 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508.

Lori's family wishes to thank all those who loved and cared for her, and helped to make these last few years a little easier for her. Most especially, the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center Hospital, Baltimore, MD, and her special angel, Cynthia, and Abilities in Motion, Reading, PA.

Stanton Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Honey Brook, Pa., has been entrusted with the arrangements.
