Maryann Brady-Marks Obituary

Maryann Brady-Marks (fondly known as MAB), 59, of Bern Township, peacefully entered into a fuller life at St. Joseph's Medical Center on Monday, November 13, 2023, adding another bright shining star in the heavens. She was born in Reading, PA, to Joseph T. Brady Sr. (deceased) and Lucille M. Brady of Bern Township. Maryann was a 1981 Holy Name graduate. She later attended college where she enhanced her writing skills. In addition to her mother, Maryann is also survived by her loving partner, Linda Korpi; her brother, Joseph T. Brady Jr. (Lucyann); sister, Jane Terry Brady; three nieces, Amber Emerich (Kyle), Alyssa Lusty (Greg), and Audra Dougherty (Chris); and eight great nieces and nephews. A naturally gifted professional writer who skillfully contributed to her community and society through her writings, Maryann's career was highlighted by her time as a technical writer at Worley Parsons. It was apparent to both family and friends that Maryann was a fun loving, spiritual individual who loved all facets of life. Her many interests included basketball, hot air ballooning, the beach, writing, and music. Maryann loved technical challenges; she could take apart and reconstruct almost anything. She embraced computer projects with enthusiasm. Maryann never shied away from challenges. Evidence of this would be after her stroke in 2018--she amazed doctors and therapists with her ability and drive to go far beyond any predetermined expectations. Special thanks to Senior Life therapists who brought knowledge and friendship along her journey. She was the catalyst of JOY and the spark of FUN! Maryann's Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, 739 Penn Ave, West Reading, with visitation from 11:30 a.m. until the start of services. Dress is CASUAL (color preference is purple). Whoever is unable to attend please take a shot (or several) of your favorite beverage in her memory!! In lieu of flowers, contributions in Maryann's memory may be made to The Freedom Center for Animal Life-Saving, 1801 North 11th Street, Reading, PA 19604 or Animal Rescue League, 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508.
