Glenn was quite the tough guy in high school, mellowing out considerably in his senior year. I got to know him better while attending Shasta JC and got to be good friends while we attended CSU, Chico. He became more philosophical in college leading to very engaging and thought provoking discussions. I would see him at his trailer and we would drink Lucky beer. He would appear to put in effort to guess the message spelled out in symbols on the inside of the bottle caps. I found out later that he knew all of the messages quite well through copious consumption of that cheap beverage.

Glenn was one of those rare men who was able to drop the facade and speak from the heart while engaging his brain. He was truly a role model, one that left this life way too soon. I don't remember the year that he died, but I was still an undergraduate, sometime in the late '70s.

I was deeply saddened at his death due to a motorcycle accident. At his funeral it was shared that he was planning to go into the seminary. This was a surprise to me as he had never mentioned this goal. I guess that was something too close to his heart to share. I can respect that.
