Richard Williams

March 9, 1944 - November 27, 2022

Richard Williams died Sunday, November 27, 2022 at the age of 78.

Richard was born on March 9, 1944 to Red Bluff residents Russell (Rusty) and Vivian Williams. The family expanded with the birth of Richard's little sister Denise in 1957, whom Richard would adore for the next 64 years.

Richard graduated from Red Bluff High School in 1962 where he was a member of the football team, and from Chico State in 1966. Richard was a craftsman from an early age, and following graduation he initially considered a career as a high school shop teacher. However, a brief stint in the classroom convinced him otherwise. He instead accepted a job with Valley Tractor in Chico, where he would work in various roles for the next five decades. 

Richard was an excellent metal worker and was constantly envisioning and building new projects, from his work on race cars and off-road vehicles to custom items for loved ones (usually painted John Deere green).

When not visiting with friends and family or working in his shop, Richard enjoyed hunting deer and waterfowl in the Northern California area.

Richard is survived by his brother-in-law Skiff Peters of Red Bluff, and the families of his nephews and niece, Saxon Peters, Allegra Davis, Gannon Peters and Evan Peters of Red Bluff.

A funeral mass will be held on December 16th at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Red Bluff.
