In Memory

Judy Smith (Amber)

Judy Ellen Ambers, age 57, went to "The Happy Hunting Ground" as she would call it, on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007, in Klamath Falls, OR. A private family service was held after her cremation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Memorial Park Project, P.O. Box 237, Klamath Falls, OR 97601.
The youngest of four children, Judy was born Thursday, March 2, 1950, to Peter and Mary (Adams) Youngblood in the city of French Camp, Calif. She proudly served her county in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1970 during the Vietnam conflict.
She spent her early adulthood in Quincy, Calif., as an entrepreneur until the late 1970s when she moved to Klamath Falls and opened a gas station with her brother.
She met rancher Clifford Ambers and the couple married Nov. 26, 1978. Judy was an avid hunter, and enjoyed running their ranch for 29 years. She lived by her motto: "Work Hard - Play Hard – Raise a Good Family, and always make time to go hunting."
She was a wonderful wife, mom, and grandmother. Her family is living proof of it. She was always there in a time of need. There wasn't anything she couldn't do.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children Jim Rippy and Laura Ambers Penkava; grandchildren Mishavn and Magnus Penkava; step-children, Joana Voyde, Norma Feehan, Elaine Ambers, and Camille Ambers; step-grandchildren Daniel Heatley, Zander Copeland, Logan Kozera, Tiffany and Stephanie Feehan, and Sierra Moore; and her sister, Gloria Selbe.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Ed and Dave Youngblood.
