I met Emily when we were pre-schoolers. I remember saying hi at a high school reunion and there was a connection still from those days. My best to her and her family and friends.
I always enjoyed Emily's friendship in high school. She had a smile for everyone and a genuineness about her that transmitted her caring heart to all. Prayers for her family.
I don't remember when I first met Emily--probably in kindergarten or first grade--and once my "neighborhood" moved to Juniper School, we lost touch. However, upon reaching eighth grade (when they allowed us Juniper kids to rejoin everyone else), Emily and I got back in touch. All through high school we were shoe-aholic sisters--we loved our VanElis and were constantly comparing as to who had the newest pair and who had the most. I reconnected with Emily shortly before our 40th reunion and was sorry she wasn't able to attend. We laughed over the VanElis and our obsession with them. We discussed her cancer, her children, her grandchildren. We had fun remembering everything. I was sorry that I didn't get a chance to personally visit her before she passed away. She was so very personable.
