We lost our dear friend and classmate, Susan Friedman Avila, on October 31, 2007, after a short but valiant fight with liver cancer. Susan is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Michael, and her two wonderful sons, Matthew and Travis. In a farewell letter to her friends, Susan quoted a poem by an unknown author:

Love does not die, people do
So when all that’s left of me is love
Give me away as best you can
