Funeral services for Dean Lubbert, 52, of Riceville were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 2, 1997, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Riceville. Rev. Matthew Versemann officiated. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery with Lindstrom Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

He died Thursday, January 30, 1997, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN.

Dean was born October 10, 1944, in Osage, IA, the son of Henry and Alice Louise Lubbert. He graduated from Riceville High School in 1963.

He was united in marriage on May 3, 1964, to nancy Anderson at the United Methodist Church in McIntire, IA.

Dean farmed for the next 17 years of his life in the Riceville and LeRoy areas. He drove truck from 1984 to 1990.  In 1991 Dean opened his radiator and tire business.  He served as a township trustee for Oakdale Township for several years and recently joined the Riceville Volunteer Fire Department.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Sheila Lubbert of Omaha, NE; Deanna Halverson of Spring Grove, MN; and Stacy Lubbert of Riceville; one son, Cory Lubbert of Riceville; two brothers, Dale of Riceville and Robert of Osage.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
