The following obituary information was provided by our classmate, Ralph Norman:

Michael Rizzone, Jr.(4/25/1944- 3/5/1999) passed away at Beverly Health Care Facility in Oil City, PA at the age of 54 following a short illness.

Michael's father moved the family to Dallas, TX in 1952 to continue his career in the oil supply industry. Michael graduated from Richardson High School in 1962 where he was an honor student and member of the National Honor Society. Following graduation from high school, he graduated from Elkins Institute with degrees in sound engineering as well as radio and television communications.

Following his formal educational training, he worked as both a cameraman and radio announcer for several years in Texas. Then, he moved back to Oil City, PA where worked as an announcer for radio station WKRZ. He later moved to Muskogee, OK and Nome, AK to work at similar positions in the radio industry. Finally, he returned to PA to work at Clarion Radio for five years. Concurrently, he continued his education at what is now Clarion University, and he graduated magna cum laude with a degree in education with majors in mathematics and history. Following graduation from Clarion, Mike moved back to Texas where he taught at Richland Community College for ten years. He eventually returned to Oil City where he lived the remainder of his life.

Mike was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Seneca, PA at the time of his death. In addition, he was an avid hiker, and he was involved in building model railroads.

Michael is survived by his father, Michael, Sr.; his mother, Elizabeth Jane; sister, Mary Jane Loremo(RHS class of 1963)of Mineola, TX; and, sister,Felicia Ann Carr of Dallas, TX.

Michael was married in 1965 to Edna Baughunan. She passed away in 1970, and Mike never remaried. They did not have children.

Services are at Faith Baptist Church under the direction of Reinsel Funeral Home on March 8th. Burial will be at Mount Zion Community Cemetery in Forest County, PA on March 9th.
