In Memoriam

Deby Holman (Fritz)

Deborah Kay Holman Fritz

April 12, 1951 - March 28, 2025

On March 28th we experienced a devastating loss of a wonderful woman. Debbie passed away at the age of 73 at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, TX, surrounded by her family.

Debbie was born on April 12, 1951, in McKinney, TX to Erwin and Frances Holman.

She graduated from Richardson High School and attended Henderson County Jr. College.

Doug was smitten with Debbie and she had won his heart, they married on May 8, 1970.  They were married for 55 years, the devotion to each other was a testament to their love.  They started their married life and family in Richardson, TX and later moved to Sachse, TX.

Debbie was always devoted to caring for her home and family. Early in their marriage she was an Avon sales manager, but was a true entrepreneur at heart. Debbie started her own business in Sachse, Das Handwerk Haus, specializing in hand made clothing, unique vintage home decor and a tea room.  In 2005 Debbie and Doug moved to Fredericksburg, TX. A few years later she started her new business named Smitten, which she managed alongside her daughter Jennifer.  Smitten gave Debbie the opportunity to showcase her home décor and decorating skills.

Debbie loved living in the hill country, she enjoyed gardening, canning, baking delicious peach cobblers and most of all cooking and spending time with family and friends. Living on the ranch enjoying the wildlife, the livestock, her dogs and beautiful sunsets was heaven on earth for her.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents Erwin and Frances Holman, father-in-law Wilfred Fritz and mother-in-law Norma Fritz. Debbie is survived by her husband Doug, son Jason and wife Anna, daughter Jennifer, grandsons, Mason, Tucker, Keegan, sister Felicia Grubbs, niece Jerri, Shelby, and nephew Justin.

Debbie leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.

What a sweet girl she was! We were aquaintances all through the years but we weren't part of the same crowd. Deby always had a smile and a kind word. I will always remember her fondly. RIP, dear one. My heartfelt wishes go out to her close friends and her family. I know it's hard. God Bless.
