Punography Ltd. 50th Reunion Activity Initial Announcement
Punography Ltd.
Resurrection and Second (and Last) Coming
A Punography Ltd. RHS Class of 1969 50th Reunion Celebration
9am Central Time -- September 8, 2018
By Tommy Thomas, Punography Ltd. Director
You’re invited to the Punography Ltd. Resurrection!
We (well, actually, Phil) have been hard at work restoring the original Punography films shot in 1968 and 1969 and their soundtracks to their original glory. In fact, through the magic of modern technology and Phil’s experience as a professional photographer for the past 50 years, these films, which are now 50 years old, are being restored to HD quality and the soundtracks to Dolby stereo quality.
These restored films will be shown at a Punography Ltd. RHS Class of 1969 50th Reunion celebration. And, besides the films, attendees will visit with classmates, reminisce, and celebrate their own 50th anniversary of graduation from RHS.
Tomorrow I will contact the owners of the Arapaho Drive-In at 600 West Arapaho Road, Richardson, Texas 75080 and negotiate the arrangements. Here are our plans.
- We’ll rent the Arapaho Drive-In exclusively for RHS Class of 1969 graduates, spouses, and friends. Friends may include graduates of RHS in the years before and after 1969.
- We’ll also rent classic 1950s and 1960s cars and loan them to attendees for the evening. These cars will include 1955 Corvettes, 1957 Chevy Bel Airs, 1958 Ford Fairlanes, 1968 Pontiac GTOs, and similar.
- Attendees can choose to park and watch the Punography film in their cars or they can choose to sit in the Barcaloungers that we will set up under tents next to the projection and snack building.
- Snacks will be available. Dinner be served from a menu taken from the offerings at Theo’s, Del’s, and the Golden Eagle Restaurant. And the fully stocked bar will be compliments of the Punography Ltd. Directors.
Our tentative date for this afternoon and evening extravaganza is Saturday, September 28, 2019. Note that this is next year not 2018!
So, Save The Date and look for more information as time ticks away to this and other RHS Class of 1969 50th Reunion activities!

Well, we have egg on our faces. Are we ever embarrassed!
We invited you to a Punography Ltd. Class of 1969 50th Reunion event next year at the Arapaho Drive-In, the place where so many of us watched movies under the stars during our coming of age. However, it appears, upon doing further research in attempting to contact the owners of the Arapaho Drive-In, that it closed down 47 years ago in 1971 and was replaced by a senior citizen’s center.
Oops. Our bad.
We briefly thought about trying to rent the activity room in the senior citizen’s center, but we thought that we would leave that possibility open for other 50th Reunion activities more fitting to that venue.
So, Steve Keene had the bright idea of leasing a Boeing 737 with those screens in the back of the seats, loading all our attendees on the plane at Love Field, and then fly around Dallas celebrating and watching the Punography films while eating some delicious airline food.
So, I will be contacting Braniff tomorrow and see what I can arrange. Stay tuned but, in any case no matter the venue we choose, save the date of Saturday, September 28, 2019 (that’s next year – not 2018!).

Well, now we have a Denver omelette on our faces. Are we ever even more embarrassed!
Turns out Braniff went out of business 36 years ago in 1982. However, my email to the class jostled classmate Ken Williams who sent me this email.
“I am the current voice for Braniff Airlines. But we do not have any 737 aircraft in our fleet at this time. We do have a few of the 707 aircraft though and with enough lead time we can likely get one to start. All of our video equipment on these aircraft are state of the art 35mm Kodak reel to reel. We are searching for light bulbs to make them work.”
And classmate Dan Dickson, retired Continental Airlines captain, emailed me to question Braniff’s ability to do charters (he was on the last Braniff charter from LAX to DFW).
Obviously we cannot subject our classmates to the very out-of-fashion 707s nor the questionable ability of Braniff to do charters. So, we have declined Ken’s very kind offer.
Stay tuned. And please bear with us – we’re trying as hard as we can.
And, of course, save the date of Saturday, September 28, 2019 – that’s next year, not next week!
