WALKER, Douglas, 62, of Mechanicsville, went to be with the Lord, Monday, April 18, 2016. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Crews Walker. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Debra Walker; daughter, Karen Seward (John); grandson, Jay Seward; father, P.K. Walker; and brother, Rick Walker (Susan). Doug worked at VDOT as an inspector. He was a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church, where as a young man he received the rank of Eagle Scout while in the Boy Scouts of America Troop 659. He enjoyed cars, nature, and spending time with his friends and family. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd., where his funeral will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, April, 21, 2016, with interment to follow in Signal Hill Cemetery, Hanover. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, Va. 22312.
