Catherine ("Cathy") Williams Carter, 69, went to her heavenly home on July 31, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by husband of 45 years Ernest Carter Jr, son; Chris Carter (Pam Carter), daughter; Elizabeth Meagher (Sean Meagher), 4 grandsons; Anderson & Owen Carter and Leo & Silas Meagher, sister; Jane Denzler (Richard Denzler), and four nieces and one nephew. She is preceded in death by parents George and Martha Williams, and brother George Williams. She was a devoted Christian with church membership first at Hatcher Memorial Baptist Church and then Cool Spring Baptist Church. She worked tirelessly at teaching others about Jesus be it in Africa, the Dakotas, or here in Richmond. She was a Girl Scout leader for over 15 years and was a role model for many girls during those years. But her favorite job was that of a loving wife, mother, and MiMi. All that knew her were blessed by her kind soul and infectious joy. Her life impacted more people than she ever realized and the loss will be felt by many.
Visitation will be held at Cool Spring Baptist Church on Saturday August 10th at 11am, service at noon with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Cool Spring Baptist Church with a notation to be used for Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes.
