Roger's home and mine were close so we knew each other quite well and had some great times in and out of school. Some involved rather questionable circumstances. We enjoyed them all. Roger was injured while with the Richmond Fire Department and shortly thereafter moved to McGaheysville Va. I regret I did not keep in touch with Roger and Jean and the kids after they moved. He was one of my best friends and a good man. Thanks, Roger... the memories have lasted a lifetime.

Roger, Bert Hicks, and I all lived in the same neighborhood and hung around together alot. After we all had cars my parent's garage became the local workshop for modifying and repairing them all. Bert's comment about "questionable circumstances" was spot on, which included Roger and I in a couple close calls as we were persued by Chesterfield's finest. Once in his 54 Ford and once in my 57 Chevy. We each had enough power and stupidity to shake them and get the car hidden back in the garage. Roger and I also had great times in both the Falcon Concert and Marching Bands, Roger blasting on his trumpet a me banging on the drums as we drove Mr. Hamilton crazy by changing various parts in some of the songs (that didn't sit well at all). After Roger moved away I also lost contact with him. My father, however, would stay in touch with him as he was Roger and Jean's tax consultant. Through my dad we would know somewhat what each other had going on in our lives. Thanks Roger for the fun, great times, and the memories.
