I met Pam in Sunday school at River Road Baptist Church in 1956 (we were both 5 years old) when my family moved to Stratford Hills from the East End. Subsequently, we went through elementary school to 7th grade, high school through graduation, attended orientation at VA Tech (with both our Moms) and graduated together again from Tech in 1973. We were friends all of that time, but closest in about 8th-10th grades which included several years as Job's Daughters (a Masonic-affiliated organization for young girls). We communicated some via letters after college. She married and had two young daughters. Pam was a great gal so I'm sure she was a loving Mom. I remember her as kind, funny, creative and friendly. She was a bright, upbeat and happy spirit. She wore the greatest sweaters her Mom used to knit for her. She worked hard in school, achieved good grades and I know she was quite popular - both in high school and college where she was in social sororities. I spoke with her a short time before her death from bone cancer and she was still upbeat and hopeful. I wished I could have seen her again before she passed over. I attended her funeral At River Road Baptist Church; there were some there who fondly remembered her from Huguenot. Lovely gal. Gone way too soon.
