Michelle Blackburn b. November 6, 1961 d. April 6, 2008
Shelly went through school with most of us and then decided to graduate early from MHS with the Class of '79.
"Shelly" went home with Jesus on April 6, 2008. She is survived by her husband, Paul Mullins; loving mother to Nathan and Sarah Mullins; stepfather, Donald Bowman; sister of Kimberly Moritz, Kathy Boates, Clifford Blackburn and Tiffani Wilson; devoted friend, Bernard Newton. Memorial service Sunday, April 13, at 3 p.m., Hope Chapel, Amelia. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to "The Michelle Mullins Memorial Fund" to help assist the family, C/O Hope Chapel, P.O. Box 871, Amelia, Va. 23002

Even though she is referred to as "Shelly" - I always knew her as Michelle - the girl with the beautiful hair! I remember her from Manchester, Providence and even as far back as Chalkley. I loved sitting beside Michelle in English because she would always make me laugh with her dry sense of humor - she was so funny! It really makes me sad to know that she passed away - I was so shocked to find this out. Does anyone know the circumstances of her death?Selina Balarzs (Heslep)

Shelley and I remained close friend after MHS. We lived together a few years and I sang in her wedding and renewal of her vows to Paul. We lost touch in the late 90's. Her stepfather called to let me know of her untimely death. Though I'm not clear on details, the circumstances were very unfortunate, and I was very sad I was not aware of the funeral, as I would SURELY have paid my respects.
