GUTHRIE, Phillip Michael, 74, of Ashland, Va., passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at home. He was predeceased by his parents, C.W. Guthrie Sr. and Mary Brown Guthrie; a sister, Dorothy Ann Causey; brothers, C.W. Guthrie Jr., Charles E. Guthrie and Joseph F. Guthrie. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Carolyn F. Guthrie; children, Stacey (Steve) Condrey, Michael Brett (Marci) Guthrie and Jenny (Peter) Garlick; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and brothers, James B. Guthrie and Edward B. Guthrie. Mike was the pastor of Living Word Assembly in Glen Allen for over 40 years. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, February 18, at Mechanicsville Christian Center, 8061 Shady Grove Road, Mechanicsville, Va. 23111. Interment will be private.

Guthrie, Phillip Michael, 74, of Ashland, Va., passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at home in his Study. He was predeceased by his parents C.W. Guthrie, Sr. and Mary Brown Guthrie; a sister, Dorothy Ann Causey; brothers, C.W. Guthrie, Jr., Charles E. Guthrie and Joseph F Guthrie. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Carolyn F. Guthrie; children, Stacey (Steve) Condrey, Michael Brett (Marci) Guthrie and Jenny (Peter) Garlick; and brothers James B. Guthrie and Edward B. Guthrie. Mike, the youngest of seven children, was born on June 22, 1944 in Richmond, Virginia. He graduated from Hermitage High School and married Carolyn Frazier in l966. Mike went to work for the family business, Golden Skillet Corp. in 1968 as vice president of purchasing. Mike gave his heart to Jesus in 1973 and in 1977 he answered God's call to full time ministry. He was the pastor at Living Word Assembly for the last 42 years. Mike was a member of the Hanover Ruritan Club and served on the board of the Richmond Metropolitan Blood Bank. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting in Colorado. Mike has ten grandchildren: Marc (Emily) Condrey, Luke (Holly) Condrey, Leah Condrey, Grant Condrey, Walker Garlick, Toby Garlick, Hannah Guthrie, Gabe Garlick, Libi Garlick & Lucy Garlick; five great grandchildren: Keira Condrey, Maddie Condrey, Graysen Condrey, Rowen Condrey & Wyatt Condrey. A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be at 1:30 p.m., Monday, February 18 at Mechanicsville Christian Center, 8061 Shady Grove Road, Mechanicsville, VA 23111. Interment will be private.
