Major Dennis "Denny" Henry Bolden, USA, Retired, 78, of Bon Air, Virginia, died at home on January 20, 2026, after a long illness and surrounded by his family
Denny was born in Alexandria, Virginia, and moved to Richmond in 1949. Denny attended Hermitage High School and the University of Richmond, Denny was part of the Army ROTC program and was commissioned in the US Army after graduating. He later earned his master's degree from USC. Denny spent 20 years in the US Army and then spent many years in multiple industries to include Time Warner Communications in Austin, Tx, and as a government contractor at Ft. Belvoir and Ft. Lee.
Denny was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Bracco Bolden and Frank M. Bolden. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Cheri Hoke Bolden, and twin brother, Kenneth Bolden of New Orleans, Louisiana. Denny was a loving and devoted father and Pap-Pap and is also survived by his daughter, Valerie Campbell and her husband James Campbell of Midlothian, Virginia, and his son, Dennis Bolden of Henrico, Virginia. His grandchildren include Megan Weems (Alec) of Powhatan, Virginia, Zachary Campbell (Elizabeth) of Denver, Colorado, Matthew Campbell (Kayla) of Daleville, Virginia, Theo Campbell of Denver, Colorado, and Bryce Bolden of Henrico, Virginia.

Denny was a great guy, a U of R classmate, and a dedicated patriot. It's sad to lose him. Ask God to comfort & protect the Bolden family.
