ROBERSON, Joyce Ann Denton, of Richmond, lost her lengthy battle with cancer May 13, 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents, Linwood "Linnie" Denton and Virginia Dell Denton. She is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, David L. Roberson; sister, Gloria Cochrane and her husband, Sonny, of Richmond; two brothers, Linwood "Bubba" Denton, of Richmond, and Dennis Denton and his wife, Linda, of Ashland; many nieces and nephews; and her longtime best friend, Betty Sue Melton and her family, of Richmond. Joyce will be missed by all of those whose lives she touched. She was retired after 19 years of service with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, member of the Ladies Auxiliary American Legion Post No. 244 and attended Northrun Baptist Church.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd., where services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. Interment Westhampton Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society .
