Elizabeth Jewell Crews, a beloved sister, mother, and grandmother, passed away on March 24, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 74. Born on May 26, 1949, in Virginia, Elizabeth was a woman of immense strength and compassion. 

 

She shall be reunited with her parents, James Jewell Sr. and Betty Griffiths Jewell. Her selflessness and unwavering support touched the lives of all who knew her. Elizabeth will forever be remembered by her loved ones. She leaves behind her brothers, Jimmy, David and their families; her adoring children, Katie Simpson (Jerry) and Clinton Crews (Talissa); and her grandchildren Hunter, Hannah, Hope, Kyler, and Julia.

 

From her early days playing softball to her successful career as a Director of Compliance in the pharmaceutical industry, Elizabeth made her mark with grace and determination. She poured her heart and soul into her work until retirement, leaving a lasting impact on all those she worked with. Elizabeth was a beacon of positivity, never complaining and always finding solutions to any problem that crossed her path. With a heart of gold, she always gave more than she took, touching the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

 

The family would like to thank all her special and dedicated friends who showed her unwavering support and friendship.

 

We invite you to join us in celebrating Elizabeth's remarkable life at a Visitation on April 2, 2024, at Bliley's Funeral Home - Staples Mill, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
