Lewis Henry (Chip) Brezee, Jr.

Chip was a member of the United States Marine Corps and later had a career in law enforcement that spanned 34 years.  He was trusted and respected in his endeavors and greatly loved in his community.  In 1991, after a successful tenure as captain with the Caroline County Sheriff's Office, he went undercover as the King George County Sheriff's Office member of the Rappahannock Regional Drug Task Force.  He then rose to the rank of major with the Henrico County Sheriff's Office and finally retired as an investigator from the Orange County Sheriff's Office. After retirement, he continued to work as an officer with the Bowling Green Police Department. Chip passed away on December 10, 2006, after a lengthy illness.  He was survived by his wife, Bettie Sue Dickert Brezee, who is also a member of the Hermitage High School Class of 1967, his son, Justin T. Brezee, and nephews, Keith and Joseph Dowdy.

Chip was a special friend who always could make the day brighter.  He would tell me jokes and I would rate them.  When I first started dating Tommy, there was a memorable double date around Easter time;  Chip and Tommy bought stuffed bunnies for their dates.  The day Chip married Bettie Dickert, the sun was beaming and so were the guests and wedding party.

Chip will be remembered for his big heart and big personality!
