Emily, her husband Larry, and 17-year old Eddie, one of their two sons, were fatal victims of a home robbery on March 25, 1990.  The three are buried together in Evergreen Cemetery, Charlotte Court House, Charlotte County, VA.  The three were survived by 14-year-old Chris Walker.  The news about the Walker family tragedy even made The Washington Post and The Seattle Times.
